Löbnitz has a history of over 1000 years.
It was here that Martin Luther formed a close friendship with the daughter of the von Schönfeld family, who, like his wife Katharina von Bora, had fled the Nimbschen monastery in 1523. The Protestant church in Löbnitz – in which Martin Luther also preached – is a stately brick building and was built around 1100. It was rebuilt several times and has a rich interior decoration as well as a rare coffered ceiling (1691). Our Hotel-Pension Keller is located directly on the Luther Way.
